Exit devices are a critical part of the Fire and Life Safety egress system and will provide safe and reliable service when properly applied and maintained. Von Duprin designs and manufactures exit devices in accordance to ISO 9001 Quality Management System and meets or exceeds accepted U.S. domestic and International standards. All 98 and 99 Series exit devices are UL listed for Panic Hardware or Fire Hardware, and are certified to ANSI A156.3, 2001, Grade 1.

98 and 99 rim exit devices for all types of single and double doors with mullion, UL listed for Panic Exit Hardware. Devices are ANSI A156.3 2001 Grade 1.

The 98 device has a smooth mechanism case and the 99 device has a grooved case. The rim device is non-handed.

A 11/05/2019, 12:28:18 PM I would suggest contacting Unicam as we are not familiar with those specific locks. However, the only difference between the 99 and the 98 is the grooves on the rail. So mechanically, if it can work with the 99 it can also work with the 98. Q Michael campos • 05/13/2020, 2:11:08 PM I have a von Duprin 98 series and am wondering how to lock it. If I shut the power off it automatically unlocks. I want to be able to keep anyone from using this door at certain hours.

However, there are cases where these bars have been installed outdoors with varying levels of success. Please see the Documentation section of this product for a statement by the manufacture when using these bars in an exterior environment "exit devices on exterior applications statement".
