Plenum wire and cable are made of specialized materials that have low smoke and low flame characteristics. The term PLENUM refers to the area set aside for air circulation in a heating or air conditioning system.

1. When should it be used: if your local building code calls for plenum-rated category cable, it should be installed.
2. Where is it installed: in any air handling space, including above a drop ceiling and below a raised floor or riser.
3. Why should you install it: it is safer. In the event of a fire, plenum will burn at a lower and slower rate, preventing the spread of toxic smoke through the ventilation system.

Default passwords and outdated firmware could expose your network. Hackers have been using printers, video decoders, and other so-called Internet-of-Things (IoT) devices as a beachhead to penetrate company computer networks.

Microsoft researchers discovered that hackers were able to move across networks by discovering insecure devices. In several cases, the passwords were the easily guessable default ones shipped from the manufacturer. In others, the device was running an old firmware version with a known vulnerability.

Please ensure your device passwords are changed from the manufacturer default and periodically ensure the device firmware is the current manufacturer's recommended version.

• Intrinsically Safe: The electronic circuit will not cause any sparking or arcing and cannot store enough energy to ignite a flammable gas.
• Explosion Proof: The housing is engineered and constructed to safely contain a flash or explosion should flammable gases penetrate the enclosure.
