Product Overview
The SDC 25 Series electric strike is designed for use with cylindrical locksets with up to 15mm throw latchbolt. The compact low profile design with an internally mounted solenoid and factory supplied mounting tabs enable quick and easy installation where jamb space is limited. The heavy duty construction makes the 25 Series ideal for high traffic installations.
SDC 25 series value 1/2 inch latchbolt electric strikes are centerline latch entry strikes designed for use with cylindrical locksets and metal frames. 25 series strikes accept 1/2 inch throw latchbolts or up to 9/16 inch throw latchbolts with 1/8 inch door gap.

If the power goes out and the battery goes out and somehow this system fails all together, how does the lock default? Will it stay locked or remain open?

The default setting on the 25-4u would be fail-secure (locked when all power is lost). It can also be configured for fail-safe (unlocked when all power is lost) by adjusting a screw on the device. For more information on this product feel free to give us a call at 1-866-500-5625

Does the latch status monitor the door strike itself (i.e. locked/unlocked), or the presence of a door latch (door open/closed)?

The Latch Bolt Monitor sensor on the 25-4u Electric Strike will monitor the presence of a door latch (door open/closed). If you are looking to monitor the status of the keeper (strike is secure yes/no) then please see the SDC 45 series electric strike that features a Deadlocked Status monitor standard.
